RIFLE SHOOTING.

The rifle shooting season as far as the local branch of the Himatangi Rifle Club is concerned was officially opened yesterday afternoon. The opening ceremony was performed by His Worship the Mayor who fired the first shot, scoring a bull. Afternoon tea was supplied to those present by the Mayor and greatly appreciated. A practice was indulged in at 200 and 500yds, seven shots and optional sighter at each range. The following are the scores :
