THE FATAL WEDDING.

The seating capacity of the local Public Hall was taxed to its utmost last night, when the Lytton Dramatic Company staged that favourite drama, “ The Fatal Wedding,” The company was at a great disadvantage on account of the smallness of the stage and absence of conveniences, being thus prevented from using a large quantity of the scenery and stage effects, which had been brought with them, nevertheless the drama was well staged and greatly appreciated by the large audience. Anyone who has seen this drama staged In a well-appointed opera bouse can readily understand the difficulties of producing same in a hall such as Foxton possesses at present, and the Lytton Company are to be congratulated upon their first-class performance under very adverse conditions. The introduction of vocal items, the “tin can” baud and dances etc., by the children greatly improved the entertainment, which all through was first-class and undoubtedly on a far higher level than is usually tbc case in Foxton. Such a good impression has the company created that It is quite safe to predict that on their return to Foxton the local hall will not be large enough to seat those desiring to be present.
