FLAXMILLS AND WATER POWER.

TOKOMARU SCHEME FAVOURED. At a special meeting of the New Zealand Flaxmillers’ Association held on Thursday, a deputation from Shannon waited on the Association in connection with the Tokomaru water power scheme. After considerable discussion it was resolved that the Association is favourable to the proposition for the installation ot electric power either from Tokomaru or Maugahao schemes combined or the Tokomaru scheme alone, or both, and will assist in obtaining farther information on the matter. A committee was also set up to endeavour to obtain the support ol other local bodies iu the district, aud take such further steps as they may deem advisable.
