AUCKLAND’S NEW BISHOP.

Auckand, October 26. The Anglican Synod, after taking several votes (in cameraf on a number of names for the election of a new bishop to succeed Bishop Neligan, subsequently sat iu open session after midnight last night and appointed the Rev. John Primal Maud, Vicar of St. Mary’s, Redclyffe, Bristol, England. The vote was practically unanimous. Owing to family matters Mr Maud cannot accept the position.
