N.S.W. LICENSING POLL.

Sydney, October 10. In the fight against No-license, a statement has been circulated that the Police Inspectors of New Zealand had adversely reported on No-license. With a view to rebutting this statement, the New South Wales Alliance has obtained from Dr Findlay, New Zealand Minister of Justice, a statement that with one exception all the Inspectors reports are substantially in favour of No-license from the point of view of law and order. The Alliance also obtained from the Mayors of Oamaru, Grey Lynn, and Christchurch, strong rebuttals of the statements made by Mr V. S. Day, Magistrate at Timaru, that more temptation to drink existed in “No-license” districts, and that liquor was kept in practically every house.
