THE WEATHER.
The Rev D, C, Bates wires as follows at noon to-day ; Eight and variable winds, but northerly moderate to strong after 10 hours ; winds freshening, and probable gale after 3b hours; expect unsettled and cloudy weather; haze increasing ; glass fall after 10 hours. Sea smooth ; tides poor. A storm area appears to be approaching from the westward, probable after 48 hours.
