TRAM EXTENSION.
EVIDENCE BEFORE COMMITTEE, The question of connecting the tram line with the railway at Marton or Greatford is not being lost sight of by the member for the district, Mr E. Newman. Yesterday evidence connected with this matter was given before the M to Z Public Petitions Committee, at Wellington, by Messrs E. Newman, M.P. for Manawatu, F. Purnell (Marton), R. B. McKenzie and A. K. Drew (Mauawatu County Council), and P. J. Hennessy (Foxton). The whole proceedings were dealt with in committee, and all the evidence taken together with the report and recommendations of the commute, will be submitted to the House shortly.
