PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH.

A meeting of managers of the above church was held on Tuesday night. The Rev G. K. Aitken presided. A letter from the Wanganui Presbytery was read in respect to the erection of a church and cottage house at the Beach, aud asking the local committee to take the necessary steps re sanie. —It was decided not to proceed with the erection of the church as the Mathodist connection had offered the use, of their building for services. It was decided, however, to proceed with the erection of the cottage manse, and the chairman said he would make an appeal to the churches throughout the Presbytery for luuds in connection with same. The cottage to be used as a retreat for Ministers during the summer months. It was decided to hold a conversazione on the 13th inst., when the Rev Dr Gibb would be present and deliver an address on current topics. A committee consisting of Messrs J. 'Ross, Parkes, McCall aud Claris were appointed to arrange details. Other minor matters were discussed, aud the meeting rose.
