MANAWATU COUNTY COUNCIL.
MONTHLY MEETING. The regular meeting of the Manawatu County Council was held yesterday at the County office, Sandon. Present: —Crs J. G. Wilson (chairman), J. Henson, R. B. McKenzie, T. Masters, G. Kendall, W. E. Barber. The following letters were received and dealt with ;
From the Treasury, forwarding £l6 igs tramway refunds. From same, acknowledging letter re reduced amounts of Oroua Downs drainage and Tiriroa road loans.
From Mr Holben, stating that the Foxton Borough Council had agreed to assist in the formation of the road from Foxton to Te Whararangi.
From Mr H. S. Thynue, complaining that a contractor was stopping his drain outlet with sand.
From Mr G. Hughes, Foxton, protesting against Mr D. Purcell removing the ridge in front of his property.
F'rom Messrs Coley Bros., Foxton, forwarding cheque for £ 2i 6s for flax, and (offering £4 ios for some flax on the road. Mr Drew submitted the following treasurer’s report:—Balances: General account, debit, ,£1951 15s Sd ; loan account, credit, os 3d. Amounts available for expenditure to March 31st, 1911: Sandon riding, ,£lB6 14s 1 id ; Mt. Stewart, ,£lB2 is rod; .Waitohi, ,£257 9s rod; Rongotea, 5s rod; Carnarvon, 9s id ; Kawakawa, £309 is 3d ; Awahou, 4s 4d ; Whirokino, ,£144 3s 3d. Accounts amounting to 12s 8d were passed tor payment.
