THE POWELKA CASE.
STATEMENT BY THE PREMIER. Wklungton, East Night. Ministers decline to give away their views regarding the Powelka case in the House as yet. Sir Joseph Ward informed Mr Wright (Wellington South) this afternoon that it is understood a deputation intends to wait upon the Minister for Justice and present a petition in favour of the prisoner The views of the Government will be stated on that occasion.
