FIRE AT PAHIATUA.

Pahiatua, June 27. Shortly after one this morning a fire broke out in a building owned by Mr T. C. Williams, Wellington, and occupied by Jack Ping, a Cinese fruiterer, W. I. Husband, land agent, and Abraham and Williams, auctioneers. The fire originated in a sittingroom at the back of Ping’s shop, and extended to Husband’s office, doing considerable damage to the root, but being quickly suppressed by the brigade. No damage was done to Abraham and Williams’s office, but Ping’s stock in the shop was completely destroyed, and Husband’s papers and office furniture suffered to some extent.

Insurances On the building, /850 in the Liverpool, London, and Globe. On Ping’s stock, ,£3OO, in the New Zealand, ,£3OO in the Alliance; on Husband’s office furniture and appliances, ,£75 iu the Sun.
