FOOTBALL.
A meeting of the Foxton SubUnion will be held to-night to deal with an appeal by the Albion Club against last Saturday’s Albion-Awahou senior match being counted as a draw. The ground on which the appeal is based is that the referee’s decision in not allowing a goal kicked from a penalty was wrong. The question ot electing a management committee will also be discussed, it being understood that several gentlemen not connected with any of the clubs having signified their willingness to act on such committee.
The New Zealand Rugby Union has received advice from their representative in England to the effect that the English Rugby Union has granted permission for the New Zealand Union to make the following alterations in the rules of the game <x) Permitting four spells. (2) A fair catch to be claimed by making a mark or calling out “mark.” (3) That the ball be thrown out at right angles at least five yards from the touch line,
