MEMORIAL SERVICE.
As we stated in a previous issue, a public memorial service is to beheld in Victoria Park on Friday next, the date of the funeral ol oar late King. A procession headed by the band, will be formed at the Post Office, which will include members of local friendly societies, members of public bodies, school children, cadets, etc. The service at tlmpark will commence as near as possible to the time at which the ceremony will be conducted in England- The Mayor has ordered special service sheets to be printed, which will be distributed to the public at the park. The order of service adopted is as follows: —Opening hymn, “ When our heads are bowed in woe,” scripture Psalm XC., Rev. Mr Mairs, hymn, 11 Rock of Agis, ' prayer, Rev. O. K. Aitkcu, scripture, x Cor. XV., Rev. G. K. Aitken, hymn, ‘‘Nearer my God to Thee,” address, Rev. G. Y. Woodward; prayer, Rev. Mr Mairs ; hymn, ‘‘ Abide with me,” benediction, Rev. G. V. Woodward ; hymn ‘‘ O God, our help in ages past.” Miss Jenks will officiate at the organ, and the Rev. Mr Mairs will act as precentor.
The service will comm euce at 2.30 p.m.
