THE WEATHER.
The Rev. D. C. Bates wires as follows to-day:— Westerly strong winds to gale ; very heavy rain may be expected ; rivers rising; glass fall, but rise after 20 hours. Tides and sea increasing ; probably very heavy sea and tides high after 20 hours.
For Influenza take Woods’ Great Peppermint iCure. Never fails, is 6d, and 2s 6d. Messrs Ross and Co., of the Bon Marche, Palmerston N., in our advertising columns draw attention to their house furnishing department, which is now so important a branch of their business. Linoleums, carpets, carpet squares, of which a large stock is carried, are bought direct from the manufacturers. A special show is made this week of the latest in casement cloths, now so much in vogue as window curtains and cosy corner hangings. * If in want of Birthday, Wedding or other gifts, go to Parkes’, he ieweller, the shop for presents.* Nature’s embrocation. Rocke’s Eucalyptus Oil. The finest that Australia produces. There’s “something ” distinctive about “Rocke’s.” 2
