FOOTBALL.
Hiraatangi has withdrawn from the senior competition on account of being unable to raise a team, and the cup match Awahou v. Himataugi to have been played on the racecourse on Saturday afternoon has been abandoned. The Awahou players, however, will indulge in a practice.
The following team has been chosen to represent Albion against Manawatu at Sanson on Saturday '• —Full-back, W. Cook ; threequarters, G. Dunn, Furrie, Mason ; five-eights, L- Perewhiti, K. Perewhlti ; half, Osboldstone; wing, Royal ; forwards, A. Cook, Curtis, King, Desmond, Cummerfield, Winiata, and Haeana. Emergencies. J. Dunn, Bowe, Pere, West. The team will travel by tram which will leave at 1.30 p.m.
The Manawatu Union has decided on the suggestion of the Foxton Sub-Union to nominate W. Winiata as one of the forwards for the New Zealand team which is to visit Australia this year.
