Mr J. W. Ivess, of Taihape, is holding a great sale of boots and shoes in the premises next Mr Patterson, chemist, and invites inspection of the goods and comparison of his prices with those usually paid.* Mr R. A. Wright, M.P., visited Foxton on Saturday evening and delivered an open air address on the No-License question. His remarks were both practical and instructive. The speaker clearly demonstrated to the working men of Foxton that drink was their worst enemy, both physically, morally and financially. On Sunday Mr Wright had a full day’s work before him. In the morning in the Methodist Church, to a good congregation, he dwelt upon the necessity of professing Christians living out their previleges, that, by their character and conduct, the teachings of the sermon of the mount through the individual lives of church members may be demonstrated to a sinning world. In the afternoon Mr Wright distributed the prizes to the children attending the Sunday School. This he did in a bright, happy and genial manner. In the evenino the church was full, when Mr Wright preached upon the Divinity of Christ. The wish was expressed that Mr Wright would revisit Foxton.
