FOOTBALL.

FOXTON SUB-UNION. The adjourned meeting of the Foxton Sub-Union was held on Thursday evening. There were present: Messrs Robinson (chairman), Martin, Anderson, Cook, Wauklyn and Whibley. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year : Patron, Mr E. Newman, M.P.; president, Mr J. K. Hornblow ; vice-presidents, Messrs O. Robinson, F. Hadfield, George Coley, H. S. Munro, H. Jarvis and W. J. Phillips; joint secretaries, Messrs P. T. Robinson and F. D. Whibley.

It was decided to ask the Mauawatu Union to forward the name of W. Winiata to the selectors of the New Zealand team to visit Australia, for inclusion in that team as one of the forwards. It was decided to start the senior competition on Saturday, May 7, and the junior on Saturday, May 14. Four rounds will be played in each grade.

The senior fixtures for the first round were drawn up as follows :

May 7. Mauawatu v Albion at Sanson, referee, Mr A. K. Drew ; Himatangi v Avvahou at Foxton, reteree, Ur Adams. May 14. Awahou v Mauawatu at Rougotea, referee, Mr C. H. Bowater ; Albion v Himatangi at Foxton, referee, Mr F, Woods. May 21. Albion v Awahou at Foxton, referee, Mr J. K. Hornblow ; Himatangi v Mauawatu at Rongotea, referee, Mr C. H. Bowater,

The junior fixtures will be drawn on May 7.

It was decided that all finals be played at F'oxton.

Other minor matters were discussed after which the meeting terminated.

At the meeting of the Management Committee of the New Zealand Rugby Union held at Wellington on Thursday night, the appeal forwarded by the Manawatu Union from the Foxton subUnion in regard to boundaries was read. It was decided to refer the matter back to the Mauawatu Union, with instructions that it was a question for that union, the New Zealand Union having no jurisdiction.
