THE MAYORALTY.

Nominations for Mayor close with the Returning Officer at noon on Thursday next, 21st. Some time ago the present Mayor, Mr G. H- Stiles, was requisitioned by the Council to continue in office for another year, but up to the present he has not given a decided answer. The Mayor has put in a strenuous year of office and has carried out the multifarious duties faithfully and well. At present his health is anything but good, but if he can see his way to again accept office we feel sure his services will be gladly accepted by the burgesses. No other candidates up to the present are mentioned. Civic affairs have become subsidiary to the Powelka sensations.
