THE LABOUR VICTORY

Sydnky, April 18

(Queensland has moved into line with the other States by placing three Labour Senators in the lead.

On the present showing Labour have 23 seats in the Senate to 13 held by the Fusionists-

Mr Fisher returned to Brisbane on Saturday, A great gathering at the station gave him an enthusiastic reception. He leaves for Melbourne ou Thursday.

THE VOTING

Svdnky, April iS. The returns of the voting for the House of Representatives are practically complete. Details are as follows: — Number on roll 2,106,339 Votes cast 1,276,934 Labour Total 633,382 Fusion total 577, io7 Independents 56,458 The voting was,.comparatively heavy. The percentage of votes cast was 58.75, compared with 51.48 at the 1906 election. In all the States, excepting Tasmania, where there was a slight decrease, the percentage substantially increased, particularly in Westralia.
