PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH.
The quarterly meeting of the Foxtou district Presbyterian Church was held yesterday at Oroua Bridge, Present : —Rev. G. K. Aitkeu (Moderator), and Messrs Alex. Speirs, Gibbs and Hornblow (Foxtou), Malheson, Richardson, and Rowlands (Tiakitahuua), Farmer and Amou[(Gleu Oroua), Wilton, Macaulay, J. Tennant, and H. Simpson (Oroua Bridge). The minutes of the previous meeting were read, and after discussion, adopted. The treasurer’s statement for the quarter showed a slight deficiency, which was more than counterbalanced by moneys since received. A lengthy discussion ensued in respect to apportioning the quarterly grants from each centre and a satisfactory basis was agreed upon. It was reported that additions to the manse had been completed aud payment of on account of same was passed.—The building committee made special reference to the extras which had been done by the contractor without extra charge. It was reported that the outlook for the future was very promising. After other formal business had been transacted the delegates were entertained at lunch in the hall by Mesdames Macaulay, Simpson and Wilton.
At a meeting of session held prior to the above Mr Costall was appointed session clerk, and Mr McCulley representative elder to presbytery.
