UNDER-SIZED FLONDERS.
Wk have been informed that under-sized flounders are at present being sold in Foxton, and would point out that the regulations governing fishing provide that flounders under nine inches in length must not be sold, and the penalty for breach of this regulation is a fine of not less than £i or more than £2O. Our informant states that these small flounders are being offered for sale quite openly, and this state of affairs has been going on for some time past. Are you listening, Inspector of Fisheries ?
