WANGANUI EDUCATION BOARD.
The monthly meeting of the Wanganui Education Board was held on Tuesday night. Present: — Messrs Fred. Piraui (chairman), G. H. Bennett, F. Purnell, E. Dixon, F. M. Spurdle, P. O’Dea, and D. H. Guthrie, M.P. Leave of absence was granted to Messrs J. P. Aldridge and Alf. Fraser.
The folio Win- appointments were approved : Eltham, Mr McKenzie ; Taihape, Mr Poole ; Taouui, Miss Mahony ; Turakina, Miss F. S. Piercy ; Feilding District High School, Miss A. Watts : Ohingai, Mr Lewis ; and pupil teachers appointed as follows: Patea, Miss Ivy Russell ; Utiku, Miss M. E. Williams ; Queen’s Park, Miss C. Finlaysou ; St. John’s, Miss Williams. Resignations accepted: F. Smith, (Mauaia) and B. Pigott (College street), pupil teachers ; M. McKenzie (Komako) and Miss C. Hanron (Tapuael, sole teachers ; Miss J. Flyger (Ohakune), and Miss J- Coombe (Feilding). Transfers proposed : Torere (assistant), Miss Barnard ; Hiuau, Miss A. O’Donnell ; Ohakune Main School, Mis Carmody , Ohakune Side School, Miss Sealer, Terrace End, Miss Billeus ; Kelvin Grove, Miss Piercy ; Okaiawa, Miss Griffiths ; Waverley, Miss W. McHardie; Mt. Curl, Miss T. Andrew; Sanson, Miss Pinches ; Tapuae, Mr F. Braik; Rougo-iti, Mr A. H. Maclean ; Awahou South, Miss H. Scott ; Makaka, Mrs C. Benton ; Makohau, Mr F. W. Davis; Pohangina, Miss N. Dowling ; Brownlee, Mr L. Berry ; Manaia, Mr VerekerBindon ; Pohonul, Mr W. F. Gilligau. It was decided that £i for £i subsidy up to £7 be granted for erection of shelter-shed at Carnarvon, and tank to be supplied. Leave of absence was granted J. K. Law, Mauaia ; Miss E. P. Laird, Greatford. Accounts to the amouut of 6s id were passed for payment.
