HARVEST THANKSGIVING.

METHODIST SERVICES. Harvest thanksgiving services were held in the Foxton Primitive Methodist Church on Sunday last, both morning and evening, when large congregations attended, the church in the evening being fully taxed. Special preparations bad been made in displaying the various fruits and other products to advantage around the base of the pulpit, and were so arranged as to give the interior of the church a most pleasing and inviting appearance. At the back of the pulpit was built a miniature stack of wheat, which set off the whole display to advantage. The Rev P. W. Jones, of Feilding, was the preacher, and discoursed a most eloquent and interesting sermon. A well rendered anthem was given by the choir. Last evening the thanksgiving products were disposed of in the Sunday schoolroom, when satisfactory prices were obtained, the proceeds totalling This money is to be devoted to the reducing of the church debt. The work of building the small grain stack in the church was ably executed by Mr C. Coker.
