FOXTON-SANSON TRAM.

The Hon. J. A. Millar, accompanied by Messrs D. H. Guthrie, M.P., and H. Tolley motored from Feilding to Rougotea on Tuesday. There Mr R. B. McKenzie, of the Manawatu County Council, waited on the Minister to ask that the FoxlonSanson tramway be extended to Greatford.

In reply, the Minister stated he held out no hope of the Government consenting to the construction of any line which would compete with the Government railway. He favoured legislation giving lower to help local bodies with -“feeding lines.” If the tramway ••would act as a feeder to the railway he would use his endeavours do grant the request.
