CRICKET.
On the Park pitch yesterday afternoon Himatangi defeated United by 6r runs on the first innings. Himatangi batted first and scored 150 for the loss of three wickets and then declared their innings closed. Redgrave gave a good display of batting scoring 109 not out. United were dismissed for S 9. This match decided the Austin Shield competition Himatangi now being entitled to hold the shield for the ensuing twelve mouths.
On Saturday Foxton will be visited by a team from the Shannon Club who will try conclusions with a team from the Foxton Association. The selectors of the local team have chosen the following :—■
Redgrave, Robinson, Gordon, Cook, Death, Woods, Witton, J. Bowe, Young, Preston, Whibley, Davey and Rori.
