ORDINATION SERVICE.

The Ordination and Induction of the Rev G. K. Aitken to the pastoral charge of the Foxton district takes place on Monday evening in the local Presbyterian Church. The service is the first of its kind ever held in Foxton, and is of a most interesting character. The following members of the Wanganui Presbytery have been commissioned to conduct the ceremony : Revs. I. Jolly, m.a., minister elect of St. Stephen’s Auckland ; G. Budd, Feilding ; J. White, Devin ; McKenzie, Shannon ; while the Rev J. Paterson, senior minister of St. John’s, Wellington, and James Pattisou of Waipukurau, a fellow student of Mr Aitken, are also expected, and Messrs Snow, McKenzie and Billens, elders. The choir under the baton of Mr Wrigley will render the following anthems: — “Lead Kindly Light,” “Hear me Jehovah,” “I am with Thee,” “Oh That my Load of Sin” and “Be Near Us,” and two quartettes, “Nearer, Still Nearer” and “I Lift my Heart.” The service will begin at 7.30 and the public as well as those connected with the congregation are cordially invited, to attend.
