A SYDNEY SENSATION.
MAN SHOOTS HIMSELF IX COURT., Svdnkv, February 17, A sensational incident occurred in the Court of Quarter Sessions to-day during the trial of a man named David, against whom there are several convictions, including some in New Zealand. David was charged with theft, and when the jury returned with a verdict of guilty, he suddenly exclaimed ; “lam innocent! I die innocent!” Then he drew a revolver and shot himself in the side. There was a great sensation among those in the Court. The Judge animadverted strongly upon the carelessness of the officials in not searching the man, whose wound is not believed to be serious.
