HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.
AUTUMN SHOW
The first autumn show under the above auspices will be held in the local Public Hall on Wednesday and Thursday, March 9th and 10th. The committee have drawn up a very comprehensive schedule, which should attract a large number of entries. The classes include pot plants, cut blooms, fruit, vegetables, cookery, home industries, farm produce, decorative, miscellaneous, children’s class. In addition to the ordinary prizes, there will be points prizes in each section. Points prizes of half a guinea have been donated by Messrs W. Signal, Hornblow, Dr Adams, John Robinson, C. Robinson, Alex. Speirs, A. Yates and Co. (seeds), Veitch and Allen, and Miss Symons. Messrs Gibbs and W. Ross have donated half a guinea each for the best hank ot fibre, and Mr Reay one guinea for the best dressed saddle of mutton. The children’s classes include garden specimens, decorations, drawing and writing. Catalogues and entry forms may be obtained from the honorary secretary.
