“DRAW POKER.”

Wanganui, February 9. Mr Kerr, S.M., to-day delivered judgment in the case of six men found in what was alleged to be a common gaming house. The evidence showed that “draw poker” was being played, and his Worship said there was ample evidence to prove that the house was a common gaming house. He found; (1) That “draw poker” was a game of mixed chance and skill; (2) that therefore the premises were a common gambling house within the meaning of the Act; that the defendants were found therein. Defendants were each fined £1 and costs, in default three days’ imprisonment.
