A POLITE LETTER.
At the Manawatu County Council on Wednesday, the following polite letter was received from Mr Tawhei Huera, a dairy farmer living at the Foxton end of the county ;
“Motuiti, Foxton, Nov, 23rd, 1909. —Secretary of the Sandon’s County Council, Sandon.—Dear Sir, —Excuse intrusion of writing, I beg to inform you to pay a special intension to improve the (Flax Road), that is the one which leads between Robinson’s and Gowers, if its convenient. It only wants the mounds to be scooped down, and 1 believe it would not take three days to complete it. I have been carrying my milk to the Foxton creamery through this road for a season and - a half, and, therefore, do hopA* that you would make proceedingJßf' at once so as to encourage me with my milking. I had opened two cuttings last season. The earlier you make suggestions the more pleasing. — Yours sincerely Tawhai Hukra, c/o Renata Hemara. (P.S. —Reply most appreciable).” As in duty bound, the Council received the letter most favourably, and referred it to Cr Barber to ascertain what could be done to make ‘‘pleasing suggestions.”
