CONFERENCE WITH MINISTER.

Greymouth, January 3

The Hon. R. M’Kenzie, Minister for Mines, visited the State mine to-day, and had a conference with the Miners’ Executive regarding the. State mine trouble. The conference lasted over an hour. On being interviewed, the Minister stated thath; could make no statement, as nothing had been definitely settled. The miners meet to-morrow to consider the matter, and will communicate with the Minister in the evening. _ The Minister Is hopeful that a satisfactory settlement will be arrived at. He visits the Blackball mines tomorrow.
