We desire to thank those of our readers who have expressed their approval of our remarks in connection with the advertising boycott against this paper by one of the promoters of the professional sculling handicap and published in our last issue. In fact we have been offered the cost of the advertisement by an enterprising sport, which we must decline with thanks. We do not wish to deal further with this matter except to contradict a malicious falsehood that we were offered and refused a good round sum to do the printing and advertising. No such offer was made.
