EDUCATIONAL.

The Wanganui Education Board has notified all Chairmen of School Committees and head teachers throughout its district that the Board has decided for the future all schools shall commence work at 9 a.tn. Where it is desired that school work shall commence after 9 a.m., application for permission to change the hour must be made by the School Committee, and satisfactory reasons for desiring the change must be adduced. The Board has also decided that what has been known as the Inspector’s holiday will be discontinued as from the beginning of next year. Summer holidays ; The holidays will begin on Monday, 20th December, and schools will reassemble on Tuesday, February Ist.
