ATHLETICS.
THE BIG SHEFFIELD. At the Foxton Athletic Club’s meeting yesterday, the following prize list was adopted for the £4O Sheffield ot 120yds, to be run at the gaslight meeting to be held on the evening of December 2nd. First prize second third £ 5, and the three unplaced competitors in the final £1 each. For the amount of prize money offered a very small entrance fee is being charged, nomination ss, acceptance 5 s - . , On the same evening there will also be a 120yds race for the professional scullers, for a silver cup valuer's 5s presented by Mr S. Messena. BICYCDE ROAD RACE. On the morning of December 2nd, the bicycle road race from Foxton, through Shannon and Devin and thence back to Foxton, will be held. The first prize is a new bicycle presented by Messrs Fowler and Gordon, second prize trophy value ,£3 3s, third trophy value £1 is, and there is also a trophy value £$ 3s for the competitor putting up the fastest time. The nomination fee has been fixed at ss, and acceptance at 2s 6d.
