PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH.

ANNUAL MEETING

The annual meeting of the district committee of the Foxton Presbyterian charge was held in the local Presbyterian Church yesterday. A meeting of session was held prior to the aljove at which the spiritual affairs of the church were discussed and report of the session clerk was read. The following representatives were present: —Rev. I. Jolly, M.A. (moderator), Rev. G. K. Aitkeu (minister in charge), Messrs J. Castall and W. Young (Glen Oroua), J. H, Wilton (Oroua Bridge), A. Matbeson, H. Rowlands and M. Richardson, district secretary (Tiakitabuna), A. .Speirs, A. J. Gibbs and J. K. Hornblow (Foxton). The Moderator presided. The resignation of Mr RaeHoward as district treasurer was accepted and Mr A. J. Gibbs was unanimously elected to the vacancy. The report and balance sheet to September 30th were x'ead and adopted. The latter should a credit balance of ,£23 which it was decided to place to the credit ot manse account.—lt was decided to authorise Mr Matbeson to procure an extra horse for use by the minister. —The plans for alterations to the manse were submitted and approved and the moderator consented to make application to the Century Fund for the sum required and Messrs Matbeson, Wilton, Costall and Gibbs were appointed a committee to supervise the carrying out of the work. It was decided to release Carnarvon from its obligation ot any further liability towards the manse upon payment of ,£5. —It was resolved to print a quarterly pamphlet to be circulated among members and adherents throughout the charge showing the spiritual and financial progress of the several stations. Notice of motion was given that the first business on the order paper to be discussed at the next meeting be the allocation of proportionate quarterly grants from each station.—The next meeting will be held at Glen Oroua. — The meeting was closed in the usual manner by the moderator.
