Paris, September 26.

The whole of the population of the district watched the military dirigible Republique passing over Moulins at the rate of 25 miles an hour.

When nine kilometres north of the town, a blade of the propeller broke, ripping the envelope, which burst with a report like a cannon shot.

The occupants of the balloon Captain Marshall, Lieut, Phaul, and two assistants, Reaux and Vincent, fell 400 feet. The mangled bodies were found. The event has caused a sensation in Paris.
