ACCIDENT TO THE RE-
PUBLIQUE,
FOUR MEN KILLED
Paris, September 26.
The whole of the population of the district watched the military dirigible Republique passing over Moulins at the rate of 25 miles an hour.
When nine kilometres north of the town, a blade of the propeller broke, ripping the envelope, which burst with a report like a cannon shot.
The occupants of the balloon Captain Marshall, Lieut, Phaul, and two assistants, Reaux and Vincent, fell 400 feet. The mangled bodies were found. The event has caused a sensation in Paris. Paris September 26. The Republique made an excellent flight of 100 minutes, when it suddenly swerved, rose to 600 feet, ami then was seen to oscillate and fall . The mechanics were buried under the motor, and it was necessary to extricate them by means of a crane. President Fallieres,learnt of the disaster while opening the great aero-nautical exhibition at Paris.
