GENERAL CABLES.
London, September 22. The captain of the cruiser Vindictive read the funeral service above the wreck of the submarine C 11, which was sunk off Yar- ft mouth on July 15. The bluejackets fired three volleys over the sunken vessel, and the buglers sounded “The Last Post” in honour of the twelve men who were drowned in the vessel.
St. Petersburg, Sept. 22. Reactionaries and hooligans pillaged the Jewish quarter at Kieff. They killed 29 Jews, 150 seriously wounded and slightly wounded 1000 others.
The Jews killed three of their assailants, and wounded 18 in selfdefence.
The police did not interfere. The attack lasted twelve hours, and during the riot two Jewish lads were thrown into a bonfire.
The Governor only summoned the troops in response to urgent entreaties from a Jewish deputation.
The outbreak was then quelled in a few hours. No arrests were made.
