TENNIS CLUB.

A meeting ot the management committee ot the Foxton Lawn Tennis Club was held yesterday afternoon to consider a complaint irom the Match Committee re two players and disregard of Rule 18, After hearing the complaint of the committee and offenders, it was resolved that the two offenders be asked to express regret iu writing for committing a breach of the rules. The committee were of. opinion that a greater regard for the rules should be observed by players in future. It was pointed out that unless the Match Committee, who have sole charge of all games, are upheld in controlling games on the courts a very unsatisfactory state of affairs would exist. It was also decided to post a copy of the rules in a conspicuous position on the courts, so that offenders iu future could not plead ignorance of the rules.
