REMARKABLE CASE AT GUY’S HOSPITAL.

Edwin G. Ladd, a fireman, 011 whom an inquest was held by! a Southwark coroner, broke his neck by falling from a ladder at the brigade headquarters.

“I believe there was a similar case of a broken neck some years ago,” the coroner remarked. “Yes,” a medical witness from Guy’s Hospital stated, “and the man is still alive, and is likely to live for another ten years. He requires medical attention night and day, but he is quite cheerful. He reads the newspapers and knits.”
