EUCHRE PARTY AND DANCE.
Mr and Mrs G. Phillips entertained a large number of their friends at a euchre pgity and dance on Thursday night, at their residence, “Te A wahou.” The decorations were very artistic, and the host and hostess excelled in carrying out one of the most successful social events yet held in Foxton. The dance music was supplied by Mr Berthold, an extra being played by Miss Alzdorf. Appended is a description of some of the dresses worn ;

Barber, claret velvet; Mrs Woodward, white silk ; Mrs Oliver Austin, black silk with cream insertion and black net; Mrs Healey, black voile skirt and cream silk blouse ; Miss Wanklyn, cream silk, white net, green velvet; Mrs Adams, white silk and white sash ; Mrs C. Robinson, green silk taffeta, crimson scarf; Mrs P. Easton, cream blouse, black silk skirt; Miss Austin, embroidered muslin ; Miss Collins, pale blue chiffon silk and white lace; Miss E. Collins, black velvet ; Miss A.' Collins, white muslin ; Miss Eevett, pale blue silk muslin; Miss Alzdorf, pale pink silk muslin ; Miss Edwards, cream silk ; Miss Fraser, white muslin ; Miss Thynne, red silk ; Miss Slattery, handsome pink brocaded satin, trimmed with silver sequin lace; Elsie Cook, white muslin; Miss E.
