PRESBYTERIAN CONCERT.

MONDAY NIGHT.

As will be seen by advertisement in this issue the members of fhe Presbyterian Church Choir, assisted by friends, are giving a concert in the Masonic Hall on Monday evening. A most excellent programme has been prepared and a treat is in store for all who attend. The proceeds are to liquidate a debt of about £& due on the organ, so we hope to see a full house to greet the several performers. Items will be given by the Misses Symons, whose violin items are always a delight, and whose genius unfortunately will soon be lost to this district on account of their early departure with their parents to Hawke’s Bay. Mr Cook, whose songs are always good and highly appreciated, will sing. Mr Fowler adds two numbers to the programme, which will be of an enjoyable nature. Mr and Miss Jenks also contribute one or two items. From a distance and new to a Foxton audience will be Mrs Pearce, Miss and Mr Anderson, of Sanson, Rev. J. McKenzie of Shannon, and Mr Rankin of Glen Oroua, all of whom have the reputation of being musical experts of no mean order. Mr and Mrs Wrigley, Mrs Paterson and Miss Aitken will each play an important part. Besides these there will be two orchestral pieces in which the Misses Symons and others will take part under the conductor.ship of Mr T. Betty. The programme is one which on its merits ought, apart from the object for which the proceeds are to be devoted, fill the hall to its utmost capacity. The charge for admission is only one shilling which brings Jit within the reach of all.
