MOUTOA DRAINAGE BOARD.
The monthly meeting of the Moutoa Drainage Board was held in the Board’s office last night. Present: Messrs Gower (chairman), Symons, Easton, Barber. The Clerk reported the amount to the credit of the general amount at the Bank of New Zealand was £9l 13s yd and to the loan account 19s gd. Since last meeting 16s 2d had been placed to the credit of the general account. The amount of rates outstanding is ,£sl 15s id. Wages amounting to £l6 5s 2d had been paid since last meeting. Correspondence was read from Fencourt Drainage Board, Cambridge, in reference to the reclassification of land after subdivision. —No action taken. From Mr T. Ward, the Board’s Engineer, advising that the test of the crane proposed to be hired from the Railway Department has taken place, and has proved satisfactory. Also forwarding copy of
letter sent to the general manager of the M.Z. Railways, in reference o the term of hiring a Preestman grab—lt was decided that the engineer be authorised to make the best terms possible with the Goverment as to rent of grab, and to procure same as soon as possible. From the Palmerston North Borough Council, in reference to account due to them for hire of derrick.—Referred back to the Engineer. From the Valuation Department, advising that Messrs Seifert and Cohen’s valuation had been reduced to Accounts amounting to 13s id were passed for payment against loan account, and £6 5s od against general account. It was decided that the foreman raft all timber required for the bridge at Langley’s Junction, and and then block Kari Kari drain and take out old flood gates. Also put in temporary bridge at junction of new drain and Kari Kari,
