FOOTBALL.
The final match for the Coley Cup, between Awahou and Rongotea, will be played on the race- ; course on Saturday. Rongotea will be represented by the strongest team they have had this season, so that they are certain to give the Austin Banner winners a good game. The kick-off will take place at 3 p.m. and Dr Adams will have charge of the whistle.’ At Wanganui on Tuesday the Poverty Bay representatives defeated Wanganui by three points (a try) to nil. The weather was wet and pold. The selectors have chosen the following team to represent the North Island against the South: — * Full-back, Meulli (Wanganui) ; three-quarters, Cameron (Taranaki), Mitchinson (Wellington), Murray (Auckland); five-eighths, Morse and O’Leary (Auckland) half, Green (Wellington^; wing, Wilkes (Auckland); forwards, Herring (Auckland), Ready, (Wellington), Francis (Auckland), Milne (Wanganui), Tamu (Taranaki), Waddell (Auckland), Bruce (Wellington). The following team will represent Awahou against Rongotea on - Saturday :—Marsh, Bird, Rore, Joe, Jeffries, Hooker, Saville, Wanklyn, Reihana, Robinson, Andresen, Haena, Reid, Coley and Withers.
