London, August 12. Au aeroplane made three suecesjjful flights at Aldershot —one of a mile and a half at a speed of 30 miles an hour. The motor steering apparatus worked well. The Cretan Government has advised a meeting of members of the Assembly and other public men that it will be well to follow the recommendations of the Powers, including the permanent removal of the Greek flag from Canea Fort. The leaders of the insurrection of 1896-7, representing the bulk of the provincial population, strongly opposed the Goevrnment’s views.
