THE RUBBISH DEPOT,
(To the Editor.) Sir, —I should like to call the attention of the Foxton Borough Council to the state of the above. In its present state it is a disgrace to the borough, and if something is not done soon, the ratepayers will find that they will have to buy more land to deposit their rubbish ou. For at the rate the present depot has filled up, and the way it is filled, the Council will require, at the least, five acres per year. Now, sir, I would suggest that the Council put men on and place all the rubbish into rows, and to see that carters in the future do not tip their carts and drag the rubbish all over the place but that they should be made to shovel the rubbish on to the rows. Thus the present depot will last for some time, and a man will not be afraid of having his horse crippled. Hoping the Council will take the hintj and thanking you in anticipation.—Yours etc., A Carter.
