The Manawatu Auctioneering Compapy reports a good week’s business with improved tone. Two households outside clearing sales, complete clearance effected and satisfactory prices realised, also good demand tor furniture and household sundries at our Thursday and Saturdays sales —slightly lower prices realised in room than outside. Land and valuation during last week : We put through 2 valuations, effected one exchange of farm, this last transaction running into several thousands. There is a big demand for straight out leases of dairying country and we can readily dispose of this class of property at good figures. We give special attention outside clearing sales of household effects, stock and implement and have been very successful in realising satisfactory prices. The following are the ruling prices for produce, etc, at outsmart sales -Fowls — During last week we sold 15 pens of purebred Leghorns, etc., each pen consisting of 1 rooster and 3 hens at 20s per pair. The demand is strong for Langshang and good forward table birds, laying fowls realising up to 7s per pair, table birds ss, old hens from is 3d to is $d each, oats 8s 6d sack, barley (good) 9s, wheat from 15s to 17s 6d, potatoes (pig) 3s, table 8s 6d to 10s 6d, seed up to 12s 6d. We carry full stocks of all produce. Consignments of poultry are recommended. We sell poultry Thursdays and Saturdays, client are requested to advise when sending.
