MAIL TRAIN WRECKED.

Brisbane , July 25

The mail train from Roma met a terrible fate 175 miles from Brisbane yesterday. The train was rushing over a small bridge when it collapsed, wrecking the engine, three carriages, and the mail van. Two passengers, Messrs Reeves and Mackie were killed outright, and eleven were injured. The details are meagre. The bridge was under repair at the time of its collapse. Luckily it was a low structure and the overturned carriages dropped only sft, The engine remained on the line, Several chains of the permanent way were torn up. A special train, With doctors, was quickly on the scene. Eighteen were injured, the majority slightly, the most serious being Messrs Souter, Morgan, G. Lasson, Scanlon, Nagen and Thorn, who are suffering either from broken arms, severe bruises or shock.
