ANGLICAN BROTHERHOOD.
At the recent synod it was decided that a special committee consists of the Revs. C. C. Harper, T. H. Sprott, J. Walker, T. H, Sykes, and the mover of the scheme, the Rev. G. Y. Woodward. The mover is convener, and after collecting various particulars, will call the committee together to discuss the possibilities of the brotherhood* The chief matter will be the communication with the Brotherhood in England for the purpose of sending a trained and tried man to be the head of the Society; The question of cost and the raising of funds will be thoroughly, gone into. A full report ydll be drawn up and presented to the Synod of 1910. As many members of the Synod sympathised with the scheme, it is believed that the “Society of St. Francis” will become an organised institution in the Church. One most encouraging sign of the proposed', scheme, is that young men from Auckland and Wellington have offered themselves for service, and it is believed there ■ would be no difficulty in getting men, for so noble a work.
