THE JAW BONE OF AN ASS.
Melbourne, July 15.
In the House Mr Webster plained of Mr Wilson’s production of the jaw bone of an ass as not only an insult to himself but an insult to the House. He asked the Speaker to obtain an apology.
Mr Wilson expressed his regret, and said he only intended it as a joke. The Opposition had been fighting the. Government with Various weapons and, they had to resort to one of Samson’s weapons.
The Government hope to bring the censure debate to an end tomorrow. There are some hints of the possibility of the application, of. the closure. ■
