FIRE INSURANCE IN LONDON.
All the fire insurance companies transacting business in th,e Administrative County of London must contribute towards the expense of maintaining the Metropolitan Fire Brigade at the rate of .£35 per million sterling of insurance. The contributions for 1909 are based on the amounts insured on December 31, 1907. The total amount of insurance is £ 1 ,055,200172, and the total amount of the contributions is .£36,931 13s nd.
